P/T Duty Manager

Do you love Riverhill? Would you like to work with us? We are looking to recruit an additional Part Time Duty Manager for the Ticket Office.

This would be to do 2 weekend slots a month (9-5.30 mainly Saturday, with some Sundays or B/Hol as needed) and a half day Wed each week. There is potential to pick up additional shifts to cover holidays / sickness.

This would be a paid role, and the job would include the following;

Check gardens before opening / set up Ticket Office

Take entry money, sell shop items, deal with Season Ticket upgrades (full training will be given)

Look after our volunteers (This includes basic IT troubleshooting, we will go through everything with you)

Check toilets / make sure gardens are tidy (This occasionally includes some less than glamorous tasks; fox poo removal etc) .

Greeting our visitors / answering questions / dealing with any issues / chat

You would be the on duty first aider (training arranged by us)

Close down ticket office at end of day, water shop plants, make sure all is tidy and ready for the next day.

Stroke dogs

Pay is £14 p. hour. Free on-site parking. You would also get a Friend’s and Family pass to Riverhill, 20% shop discount and a fancy Malabar coffee each shift.

We are a small, friendly team and we are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, and their dogs. You need to be adaptable and willing to muck in. We are never sure what is going to happen here so being able to think on your feet and calmly problem solve is important. We provide full on going training and a relaxed and fun work environment (although it will be busy, you won’t be bored!)

The role involves a certain amount of physical activity, you will need to do a full Garden check in the morning, plus being on your feet a lot. It is largely based out of our Ticket Office, so warm clothes and a hardy nature are advantageous.

Start date is March.

If you think you could help us please email: kate@riverhillgardens.co.uk with your CV and brief covering letter.
